Mooresville Approves LIV Development rezoning bid for large residential project on Lake Norman

A developer based in Birmingham, Alabama, won a critical approval last night for its large proposed project on Lake Norman.

Mooresville's board of commissioners at its meeting yesterday approved a rezoning request from LIV Development for a 96.8-acre site off Transco Road. The request was being made to allow for the development of up to 579 residential units at the site, town documents show. A small portion of the site is being set aside for a waterfront restaurant.

Mooresville's commissioners were split by a 3-3 vote to approve the rezoning. Mayor Miles Atkins broke the tie in favor of approving the request.
